Mount Meru Climbing Overview

Mount Meru rises to 4,563 meters (14,970 feet) above sea level. As a result, it ranks as the second-highest mountain in Tanzania after Mount Kilimanjaro and the fifth-highest peak in Africa. The final ascent leads to Socialist Peak, the summit of Mount Meru. From here, climbers enjoy breathtaking sunrise views across the surrounding landscape. On clear mornings, the silhouette of Mount Kilimanjaro appears on the distant horizon, creating one of the most memorable scenes in northern Tanzania.
